County updates: airport ALP comments, Brown Park planning, road grading and clinic work

County staff briefed the commission on infrastructure work including airports, parks, roads and clinic construction during the Aug. 26 meeting.
Brett reported the county received comments from the state on the Airport Layout Plan (ALP) and staff are conducting a final quality control pass to ensure all comments are addressed. The County is preparing to advertise work on Brown Park later in the year and will begin construction next year; staff are awaiting a response from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on a trail matter and have scheduled an initial review meeting with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT).
The road crew is taking advantage of recent moisture to get grading work done. Clinic construction is progressing: sewer and storm drain work is underway, fill and rock have been placed, and the first 8‑inch lift has been installed beneath footings, though staff described 'hiccups' in the schedule.
The sheriff also raised facility safety items, recommending painting a ground knob a fluorescent color to reduce trip risk and requesting 'no smoking' and alcohol signage in the arena and park areas; he also thanked staff for improved bathroom lighting used during recent events.
