In a clustered business session Oct. 8, the Mayfield Town Council adopted Ordinance 2025-5 to update impact-fee schedules and approved several routine and project-related payments.
Impact fees adopted: Speaker 10 read Ordinance 2025-5, which incorporates an August 2025 impact-fee facilities plan and analysis. The adopted fee schedule lists parks/open-space at $32.81 per dwelling unit, roads at $17.39 per dwelling unit and water at $5,121.84 per dwelling unit, totaling $10,142.52 per dwelling unit. The ordinance was adopted by roll call and will be signed as required by town code; staff noted the ordinance becomes effective upon publication or posting as required by law.
Other votes at the meeting: Council approved several other measures during the same meeting cycle:
Votes at a glance: - Safe Pathway sidewalk: Approved transfer of funds for Mayfield’s portion ($210,000) (see separate coverage). - Resource officer payment: Approved Mayfield’s annual share for the Gunnison Valley Police Department school resource officer (Mayfield’s portion listed as $6,215). - Annexation petition: Council accepted the Albert Christians annexation petition for processing and will forward to the county boundary commission for certification. - Invoices: Council approved vendor invoices dated 09/11/2025, including chip-seal maintenance work. - Utility-bill late-fee waiver: Council agreed to waive late fees through the 25th of the month for water bills affected by postal delays.
What was said and next steps: The council’s ordinance reading referenced Utah Code procedures for impact fees (including notice and public hearing requirements); staff will post the ordinance and circulate the signed document. For the annexation, the county will verify records and the town has 30 days to certify the petition according to staff comments. For the sidewalk and invoices, staff will continue engineering and reimbursement processes and report back if costs change.
