Commissioners and staff sought clarity on dimensions and occupancy: Kobe estimated the unit at about 400 square feet after the bathroom expansion and said he had obtained a building permit; an initial inspection is due in March or May (the transcript lists both months). The commission reminded the applicant that the town’s administrative practice was changed to require two weeks for notification after an earlier 48-hour window on the application; staff said letters to neighbors are technically supposed to be sent 10 days ahead of hearings.
The commission discussed parking requirements—typically one parking space per bedroom—and confirmed the site appears to have space for multiple vehicles. The chair asked that outstanding items (exact square-foot dimensions, an inspection, and the required notification letters) be completed and said the item will be placed on next month’s agenda for recommendation.
The commission did not vote on the conditional-use permit at the Jan. 29 meeting.
