Library outlines 'Color Your World' summer reading events, author visits and community outreach

Library staff announced this year’s summer reading theme, 'Color Your World,' and detailed events and outreach at both Duchesne and Roosevelt branches. Sign-ups were reported open online and via the readers-app; Roosevelt will track total minutes rather than daily reading to reduce burden on patrons.
Events include Duchesne’s opening on July 27 at Arroyd Park with games and crafts, a Roosevelt closing event with aquatic-center access for program completers, and author panels and meet-and-greets featuring six authors. Markley highlighted outreach that improved turnout at a prior Duchesne open house (more than 200 attendees) and noted the seed library has served 166 patrons thanks to a donation from Allred's Yard and Garden.
Staff said they plan additional small events during the summer and will present participation data during the July budget discussion.
