Huntington council approves 'Huntington Heritage Complex' for rodeo grounds, renames senior center

HUNTINGTON — The Huntington City Council on Oct. 15 approved two facility naming measures aimed at strengthening the city's ability to pursue grants and to better describe city assets.
Council members endorsed calling the rodeo grounds the "Huntington Heritage Complex," a change the mayor said would aid grant applications and fundraising. Lisa Miller made the motion to approve the name; Gloria Wilson seconded. The council voted by voice and the motion passed.
Separately, council members voted to rename the recently city‑acquired senior center the "Huntington Community Center." Gloria Wilson made the motion to effect the name change and Judd Beagley seconded; council members voted in favor.
Both motions passed by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
