Council member Speaker 7 read the ordinance on the record, which states that revenues will be used exclusively for recreational, cultural and park-related facilities and programs within Mayfield Town and in accordance with applicable interlocal agreements. The ordinance cites the voter-approved proposition and references the statutory authorization noted in the reading.
Speaker 3 moved to approve Ordinance 2025-6, a second was recorded, and the council approved the ordinance by voice vote. The ordinance becomes effective upon required posting and publication as provided by law and following certification and filing procedures with the Utah State Tax Commission.
Council members said the revenue will support local parks and cultural activities; no specific project allocations were adopted at the meeting. The council recorded the passage of the ordinance and indicated staff will handle the administrative steps required to implement the tax.
