Councilors discussed resident requests to rent tables and chairs from the town hall and moved to update the written rental agreement to reflect prior practice of not allowing tables and chairs off town property.
Speaker 2 said several residents asked about renting tables and chairs; Speaker 1 recalled a prior situation in which items were taken offsite and returned damaged, "we had someone take them up to the mine, and that's when we decided" not to allow offsite rental. Speaker 3 moved to update the rental agreement and table/chair agreements so the rules are clear when residents call. "I'll make a motion to include updating our rental agreement and chair table agreements," Speaker 3 said.
Members also noted the county recreation department handles some equipment (canopies, etc.) and that referring requests to the county rec department can simplify town staff work. The council agreed to locate an electronic copy of the rental form and to update policy language.
Next steps: staff will locate and circulate the rental agreement form and update the policy language to reflect the council's direction.
