Borough management told council that bids for Pump Station 3 reconstruction came in substantially higher than earlier estimates.
The borough manager reported a low general construction bid of $624,500 and an electrical contract of $150,700. He said the borough already purchased pump station equipment from Enviroc and has design costs; combining those items brings the project estimate to approximately $1.3 million. The manager said that prior estimates before supply- and market‑price volatility had been closer to $700,000–$750,000.
Council was told the Special Sewer Fund will be the funding source for the project; the manager did not present a finalized financing plan at the meeting. The bids arrived too late to take final action at this session and the item will appear on the next meeting agenda for review and potential award.
No formal contract award or motion was taken on the Pump Station 3 bids at this meeting; council will review the bids and consider action at a future session.
