Updates: self-help housing progress, clinic construction and tourism activities in Daggett County

Commissioners received several operational updates at the Nov. 14 meeting.
On affordable workforce housing, Speaker 3 reported that the contractor has nearly completed utility work for the self-help program and that builders will ramp up activity once utilities are finished. "They're just about completed on having the utilities in to them... he was hoping to be done this week," Speaker 3 said.
Clinic construction updates reported by Speaker 3 indicated the project is moving forward with roof work planned ("put the roof on" referenced) and four subcontractors working inside; staff described progress toward getting the structure "dried in."
On tourism, Peggy said the Burbot Batch project is moving along and that a final permit is expected soon; she also reported outreach by the New Smyrna County Library and local interest in a bookmobile to serve Dutch John directly. Peggy summarized local meetings in which workforce training options (small-engine repair, 3D printing, CNA courses, nail/hair technicians, electricians) were discussed.
No formal action was taken on these program updates. Commissioners thanked staff and citizens for the reports and moved on to financial and procurement agenda items.
