Daggett MBA: Water plant progressing; clinic crew readies for concrete this week

The Daggett County Municipal Building Authority on Sept. 2 heard progress reports on two local infrastructure projects, with staff and volunteers describing steady construction advances.

At the meeting, an unidentified board member praised the water plant operator, saying, “Thank you to Trevor for all of his hard work and his diligence and paying attention to details to get that project moving smoothly with the team that's doing it between the contractors and the engineers.” The board was told the water treatment plant work is moving forward and coordination among contractors and engineers is proceeding well.

The board also received a detailed construction update on the county clinic from a project volunteer identified only as Jesse. Jesse said crews have largely completed structural fill and compaction and are advancing toward footings. “We progress forward as far as mitigating the issues we've had with groundwater … the plumbers are here starting to work on the under slab plumbing, and so things are progressing forward, and you should see concrete trucks hopefully by the end of the week,” Jesse said.

Board members publicly thanked Jesse for his time and work. An unidentified speaker noted the effort is volunteer, saying, “We recognize that's not something that you're getting paid to do. It's all volunteer.”

Why it matters: the water treatment plant and clinic are county infrastructure priorities; resolving groundwater at the clinic and completing under-slab work are necessary steps before slabs and vertical construction can proceed. The briefings indicated active coordination among operators, contractors and volunteer contributors but recorded no policy votes or new funding approvals tied to these updates.

The projects will continue under the teams already identified; meeting minutes show no separate action items added at this session for these projects.
