Daggett County Commission approves minutes, hears RDA and legislative updates

The commission received an RDA update from Cordell McCracken, who said, "I was informed last night that Matt Tippets has completed the realignment of the utilities for his property." Participants noted the completion as positive progress for redevelopment efforts tied to the agency and the Municipal Building Authority (MBA). Members confirmed the MBA had an agenda item on today's materials.
On county and intergovernmental matters, Lynn Sitterd provided a legislative update. Sitterd said the senator had been "still pushing me the healthy forest" reauthorization and flagged a recently advanced bill described in the transcript as the "Quiet Act," which would require robocallers to disclose when they are using artificial intelligence. Sitterd said counties were watching the healthy-forest reauthorization and that SRS checks appeared likely to be reauthorized, though timing for funds was uncertain.
Senator Waterton attended but told the commission he had no new items to report at this meeting.
Tourism staff reported event and outreach updates. Jordan Hewitt said Riverbat registration "is going really good" and noted registration was reported in the transcript as "up to 7 maybe 87 people," crediting new activities, partners and volunteers for the year's success. A public commenter relayed a $500 donation from Operation Roundup and asked organizers to follow up about holiday submissions; the commission agreed to take that discussion offline.
The meeting recessed at 9:13 a.m. so the commission could convene the Municipal Building Authority.
