New members sworn in; John Reese elected chair and Mason Haycock vice chair

At the start of the meeting the commission recognized newly elected commissioner Gwen Brown and swore in two new appointees, Claire Clayson and Julie Miller. Staff administered the oath of office, and the new members signed required forms to become official voting members.
During agenda item 3 the commission opened nominations for leadership. John Reese was nominated and, after a motion to suspend the rules and elect by acclamation, was elected chair. Mason Haycock was nominated for vice chair, the nomination was seconded, and the commission elected him in a voice vote. The chair noted those officers will serve for the 2025 term.
The leadership actions were procedural and adopted by voice vote with no recorded dissents.
