Scofield council approves easement to install private water meter

Scofield — The Scofield Town Council voted Oct. 13, 2025, to adopt Resolution 09/08/2025 granting an easement to install and maintain a private water meter for the David Jones Trust on parcel 1B04820004.
During new business, the presiding officer read the resolution describing an easement on parcel 1B0482003 to provide access and service to the private meter serving parcel 1B04820004. The presiding officer moved to adopt the resolution; a council member seconded the motion and the council voted in favor.
Council members discussed that the request stemmed from separate water connections sought by Sue Jones and Grant Smith, and the council said a signed easement prepared by the town attorney will be submitted to the county recorder. The presiding officer stated the recorder would return a copy of the recorded easement to the town.
The council also re-signed a recently adopted noise ordinance during the same session to correct an incorrect ordinance number on earlier paperwork. No amendments to the substance of the noise ordinance were made at the meeting.
What happens next: the presiding officer said the town will record the easement with the county recorder and provide copies to the parties named in the document. The council did not set additional conditions or ask for further study during the Oct. 13 meeting.
