Emery County approves on-site wellness clinic and participation incentives for employees

The Emery County Commission approved an on-site annual wellness clinic to be provided by Geagan Family Medicine in November for full-time employees and, at the county's expense, expanded the clinic to include three quarter-time variable employees. County staff said the flat fee for the clinic is $1,800 and per-employee fees for blood draws and tests were outlined ($48 for full-time females and $58 for full-time males, with additional testing fees if triggered by lab results).
Commissioners also approved an incentive of four hours of accrued sick leave for full-time employees who complete the clinic and voted to pay for part-time employees to receive flu shots in conjunction with the clinic. County HR/staff said the clinic is intended as preventive care and that historically roughly 80% of employees attend when offered.
The motions passed without recorded opposition; staff will finalize scheduling and outreach so eligible employees can participate.
