Emery County approves consent agenda, sells small Green River parcel; routine contracts passed

The Emery County Commission on Oct. 7 approved routine business items and several contracts during its regular meeting in Castle Dale.
The commission approved the consent agenda and then accepted the highest bid on county-owned parcel 01-151E-0024 in Green River. Two bids were received: $355 from Clint Taylor and $1,250 from G Todd Mars; the commission approved selling the parcel to G Todd Mars for $1,250. Commissioners recorded affirmative votes and the motion passed.
The board ratified the 2026 Children & Teen Enhancement mini grant totaling $14,500 to support library purchases. The grant allocation identified $2,000 for Castle Dale, $2,500 for Cleveland, $3,000 for Elmo, $2,000 for Emery, $2,000 for Ferron and $3,000 for Orangeville.
The commission also approved the annual Wheeler backhoe-loader rental agreement at $8,400 for up to 300 hours and confirmed other routine approvals recorded on the agenda.
The meeting concluded with reminders of upcoming public events and an invitation to the Oct. 21 commission meeting and town hall in Green River.
