The Green River City Council took several formal actions at its Oct. 14 meeting, all recorded by roll call.
Appointments to Historic Preservation Commission - Joanne Channer (motion moved and seconded): approved by roll call with recorded votes of "Aye" from council members Guy, Larry, Beau, Kent and Ben; motion passed unanimously. - Breanna Brown (reappointment; motion moved and seconded): approved by roll call with the same recorded unanimous votes. - Travis Bacon (motion moved and seconded): approved by roll call with the same recorded unanimous votes.
MOU with Emery County School District Council considered a Memorandum of Understanding allowing Green River High School to use the Green River Public Safety Building as a relocation area during declared emergencies and drills. Councilors raised operational concerns about pedestrian entry and emergency‑vehicle movement; staff explained student pedestrian access would be routed through the building’s rear and that drills would be coordinated with fire and law‑enforcement personnel. The council amended the MOU language to explicitly include drills and returned to roll call; the motion passed unanimously.
Consent agenda The council approved the consent agenda, which included the financial report for August 2025, the payment approval report of October 2025, the treasurer’s report for September 2025 and regular meeting minutes from Sept. 9, 2025. One abstention was recorded from a council member who said they were not at the prior meeting; the rest voted to approve.
No further formal legislative items or ordinances were adopted at the meeting. The council adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
