Library board approves minutes and 2026 schedules, thanks donors and moves to closed session for director's review

At its Nov. 18 meeting, the Duchesne County Library Board approved routine administrative items and acknowledged donor support before moving into a closed session for the annual evaluation of the library director.
The board accepted the Sept. 16 minutes after briefly discussing whether to note the canceled October meeting; members agreed to annotate the record to say the October meeting was canceled for lack of business. Jenny Adams moved to approve the minutes and Deb Evans seconded; the motion passed by voice vote.
The board recognized a $100 donation from Queens Peak Credit Union and celebrated receiving the Utah State Library Division's quality library award. The board also approved the 2026 meeting calendar (May moved to the second Tuesday because of the Utah Library Association conference) and the 2026 holiday/full schedule, both by voice votes after motions and seconds.
Before adjourning to a closed session, Chair Jessica Shaw asked for a motion to go into closed session "so that we can do the annual evaluation of our library director." Jeff Chowd made the motion and Jenny Adams seconded; the board voted in favor and moved into closed session at 4:50 p.m.
No substantive details of the closed session were released; the public packet included the agenda, schedules and budget materials reviewed in open session.
