Emery County allocates LATCF/COVID-era funds to local projects including water, vehicles and playgrounds

Emery County commissioners on March 18 approved a package of LATCF (COVID‑era) fund allocations for cities and county departments.
The board approved $62,500 to Orangeville for pickleball courts; $200,000 to Castle Dale for an all‑abilities playground; $400,000 to the county road department for a landfill building remodel and purchase of a fully equipped snow plow; $146,000 to the Emery County Local Building Authority (split in the memo as $46,000 for Emery Dam work and $100,000 for an industrial‑park feasibility study); $330,000 to the sheriff’s office for up to eight patrol vehicles plus one administrative vehicle and a SAR room remodel; $100,000 to the Fair Board for show ring and livestock panels; $100,000 to the Emery County Recreation District for Huntington Complex bathroom remodel; and $186,327 to be held temporarily by the county for cities to submit projects for consideration.
Commissioners said they expect cities to submit ready projects by summer to obligate the funds promptly. The motion to approve the allocations was moved and passed unanimously.
