The Daggett County Commission approved two lease agreements for propane tanks to support the new Dutch John water-treatment facility and approved staff submission of a Forest Service application for the 2026 Burbot Bash.
Public-works staff explained the need for separate fuel sources under Division of Drinking Water rules: one 1,000-gallon tank for a backup generator and one 1,000-gallon tank for the building heater. Mountain West Propane provided lease terms the county reviewed; the lease carries a nominal $5-per-year fee but can include a $125 minimum charge if the county does not purchase the threshold amount of propane in a contract year. The commission voted to enter the two lease agreements.
On a separate agenda item, staff said the Forest Service application for the 2026 Burbot Bash (Wyoming and Utah submissions) had been completed and approved; a commissioner moved and the board authorized submission to the Forest Service. An agenda request to buy a new AED for the senior center was removed after staff reported a donated device would cover the request.
Staff will execute the leased agreements and return copies to county auditing as required.
