Business license: An applicant (Scott Long) identified himself as operating a construction business from home and said customers will not visit the property. Commissioners recommended the town council approve a business license; the motion recorded in the minutes referenced Norwood Construction while the applicant initially referred to Broadway Construction. The commission carried the recommendation by voice vote and will forward it to the council for final action.
Accessory structure permit: The commission approved a permit for a 24‑by‑30 garage with a storage loft to be built on 3497 South Mill Road, subject to receiving required engineering approvals and agency signoffs (fire department approval, Blue Stakes locates and any utility clearances). Staff said Blue Stakes markings have been completed and will forward locates to Daniel Irrigation for review when appropriate.
Geneva Rock: The commission voted to continue the Geneva Rock conditional‑use/subdivision item to a later meeting after engineers provided late materials; staff will include the engineer’s letter in the next packet.
Enforcement and infrastructure updates: Staff reported a complaint about nightly‑rental (short‑term rental) use is in process and that state law and implementing rules will apply when the state code becomes effective (staff said an effective date believed to be July 1). Staff also said they are working with a local trailer park on well connection and water‑rights issues; commissioners noted the park may exceed 25 residents and therefore be required to operate as a public water system, triggering testing and separation requirements between wells and septic systems.
Minutes and elections: The commission also approved minutes for Nov. 20, Dec. 18 and Feb. 19, and staff reminded commissioners about upcoming candidate declarations for the November municipal election.
