The Dec. 10 Mayfield Town Council meeting included several routine but consequential administrative items.
Financial approvals: The council approved the claims and invoice register for 11/16/2025–12/10/2025 with total expenditures of $21,006.15, following a motion and second.
Meeting schedule: Staff (Amanda) presented the 2026 calendar; the council approved regular meetings on the second Wednesday of each month and work meetings on the first Wednesday, both scheduled for 7 p.m., with required prior notice for changes.
Sidewalk contract and capital project: Council announced the town has signed a contract for the long-discussed north–south sidewalk project on the east side of town. Staff said the project will build a 5-foot-wide sidewalk along the highway corridor to reduce pedestrian exposure and that the town has secured approximately 87% of the needed funding.
Community events: The council confirmed a town Christmas party on Dec. 18, a meet-and-greet and swearing-in for elected officials on Jan. 7 and other holiday activities including a wagon route and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
What’s next: Staff will post the 2026 meeting schedule as required, proceed with sidewalk contract implementation and return any procurement updates or payment schedules to the council.
