Emery County commissioners approve routine business, back park deeding and cross-appeal resolution

On a major community project, commissioners voted to begin the process to deed county-owned property adjacent to the Emery County Aquatic Center to Castle Dale for construction of an All Abilities Park. The mayor (unnamed in the record) said the project has secured roughly half the required funding so far from COVID relief dollars, mineral lease funds and local business donations; bids for security and lighting have been received. The commission’s action authorizes staff to obtain legal descriptions and begin the transfer process, with the city to assume park ownership once completed.
