Kaylee Morris presented a slideshow and described year‑round learning clinics (showmanship, feed and nutrition), the program’s emphasis on responsibility and sportsmanship, and how participation builds skills. Morris thanked the commission “for their donation of $55,000 and the purchase of the show ring for us to use.” She introduced several youth participants who described hands‑on activities including helping with newborn pigs and pulling animals for shows.
Presenters noted program participation ranged from ages 3 to 18, and youth organizers described special events including a rabbit show with 41 entries, a coloring contest and fundraising bingo and barbecue. Morris also listed the top county winners in market classes and the recipients of county buckles.
The commission received the presentation and extended thanks to organizers and volunteers. No formal action beyond the earlier consent‑agenda donation acknowledgement was required at the meeting.
Next steps: organizers will continue outreach and clinic programming; the commission’s financial support and the purchased show ring will be used in upcoming county fairs and youth events.
