Chair Gary Errington updated the commission on visits coordinated with the health department and building staff: "Brandon and I did visit these places," he said, reporting visits to the properties identified as Hilliard, Johnson and Christiansen and noting stop‑work orders and questions about occupancy. Staff described a recent contact with a Jensen who said he had a permit for power and planned only to place an awning and not pour a concrete pad; staff also reported uncertainty about who is living on some parcels and whether sites meet code for permanent residence.
Commissioners and staff agreed that Planning and Zoning has limited direct enforcement authority and that legal and code enforcement action by the County Attorney is required. Tyler Jeffs moved that the commission refer the three properties to the County Attorney to seek compliance with county ordinances; Bart Cox seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The commission asked staff to coordinate with the County Attorney and the health department to ensure the matter advances through legal and enforcement channels rather than remain an administrative complaint at the planning level.
