The Emery County Planning and Zoning Commission on Tuesday tabled a minor-subdivision application for the parcel described as the JNR Minor Subdivision after county staff said the submitted survey and plat were incorrect.
County staff reported that the paperwork turned in to the county office was not correct and that the plat appeared to include property belonging to Utah Power & Light, leaving the applicant’s acreage unclear. The applicant was not present; staff asked for corrected survey maps before the commission takes final action.
The parcel under review lies near the end of Main Street in Orangeville adjacent to property owned by Randall Stilson and was described in discussion as a narrow, roughly two‑acre strip intended for a residential lot. Commissioners and residents discussed previous annexation attempts by Orangeville City, property‑line ambiguities and the implications for sewer and secondary‑water access.
Commissioners moved to table the item until the applicant provides an updated survey and corrected plat; the motion carried by voice vote. The commission advised the applicant to resolve the utility‑easement issue and resubmit corrected documents for the next meeting.
