Commission begins transfer process of county parcel to Castledale City for all-abilities park

The Emery County Commission voted Jan. 6 to begin the process of transferring a county-owned parcel to Castledale City for an All-Abilities Park.
Castledale's mayor and supporters said the location is adjacent to the swimming-pool parking area, approximately 109 by 92 feet (about 10,000 square feet, or ~0.25 acre). The mayor said approximately $300,000 in donations and fundraising commitments have been collected and the city intends to pursue Community Impact Board (CIB) funding for additional construction costs.
Commissioners agreed to measure and record exact parcel boundaries, provide the city with required documentation and move forward with the transfer process. A motion to begin the transfer process was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
County staff said exact measurements and the transfer sequence will be documented and provided to the county clerk for the record, and the city will proceed with funding applications.
