County outlines plan to adopt 2024 International Codes, seek broad stakeholder input

Leitzig said the goal is to present a vetted template to cities and to return to the board in late spring or 2026 with proposed amendments.
Commissioners emphasized coordination with municipal adoption processes, expressed concern about the cost impact of stricter codes on affordable housing, and urged the staff to incorporate developer perspectives. The board signaled strong support for a robust engagement process while recognizing each city will adopt its own final version.
