The Tupelo City Council approved a series of routine administrative and capital actions during its Jan. 20, 2026 meeting.
The council approved the minutes of Jan. 6, 2026, and authorized bill payments. It approved an RFQ award to Cook Coggin Engineers for the Target Road Water Project (RFQ #2025-044 PW), and approved a contract for the Tupelo Aquatic Center pool liner. The council also awarded the Ballard Park Lakeshore Improvements bid and approved the corresponding contract, and approved an RFQ and the operations contract for tennis instruction and facility operations at Rob Leak City Park.
In addition, the council recorded proof of publication for an ordinance amending the development code (Chapter 5 overlay districts) to add the "Park Hill Residential Neighborhood Conservation Overlay District" (TA-205-0.01). Several items were tabled earlier in the meeting by motion. In all recorded instances in the transcript the motions were made, seconded and the chair announced "motion carries," but the transcript does not include a roll-call tally of yes/no votes for each item.
The approvals were presented as routine agenda items and carried by voice vote or unanimous consent as recorded; no further controversy or substantive debate on the items is recorded in the transcript.
