The Daggett County Commission approved purchase of towable folding bleachers with a 107‑seat capacity for $29,680 on April 21, 2025.
Speaker 7 said the Rodeo Grounds Advisory Board voted to recommend the towable bleachers, which are movable and towable with a half‑ton pickup. The vendor quote excludes the cost of fabricating an elevated platform and walkway to gain viewing height inside the arena; Speaker 7 estimated that platform would cost around $5,000.
Commissioners discussed ADA access and whether remaining grant funds or donated materials could cover platform costs. Speaker 8 outlined ongoing work to pursue donations from SunRock in Rock Springs to help meet ADA needs. "If that comes to be, then there'll be a lot more decisions to be made and everybody to get on board with it," Speaker 8 said.
A motion to approve the purchase request to Granite Industries (contact Chris Ledford) for $29,680 passed by voice vote. Staff said the bleachers can be used for concerts, pickleball and other county events, and that fabrication of any platform would be a separate capital expense to be considered.
The commission asked staff to review potential surpluses in related grant line items and to explore donor support for ADA improvements before committing additional funds.
