Financial approvals: Unidentified Speaker 2 moved and Unidentified Speaker 1 seconded a motion to acknowledge receipt of the cash summary as of May 9, 2025; the motion passed. The commission approved the open invoice register dated May 12, 2025 in the amount of $58,767.90 and approved a disbursement listing for May 5–12, 2025 totaling $1,034,376.40.
Purchases, contracts and licenses: The commission combined a purchase request with a contract discussion and approved a TRN Media marketing contract and purchase request for advertising in the amount of $9,475. The contract covers a one-year package of radio, video and banner advertising serving Sweetwater County and includes the vendor producing ads or the county providing scripts for recordings. The commission approved completed business licenses for a list of companies that included Vivint, Smart Home Pros Inc., American Towers, DIRECTV LLC, National Outdoor Leadership School and others.
Permits and events: The commission approved signing the Forest Service special-use application and letters for the Tower Rock Run event and approved a musical-services contract with local musician Jackson Hartley for $350 plus a one-night lodging arrangement. Each of these items was approved by motion and carried with recorded 'Aye' responses.
Why this matters: The approvals represent routine fiscal oversight and event/marketing investments that affect county operations, vendor relationships and community events.
Next steps: Staff will execute contracts and process the approved disbursements and invoices. For the TRN Media marketing contract, staff noted the ability to update social media material promptly for time-sensitive promotions.
