Daggett County commissioners on July 3 confirmed the schedule for two major summer events and discussed using new promotional material to boost tourism. Speaker 2 told the commission that rodeo week will run Friday and Saturday and that organizers are preparing a 28-page program. The commission also discussed a concert set for Aug. 23; Speaker 4 said the governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity granted sign-off to allow the concert to use last year’s grant funding.
Speaker 2 described recent drone photography and drone-shot fireworks footage as a marketing asset and said staff will compile video and photos for tourism outreach. The meeting record shows staff and volunteers, including a newly involved drone operator, will gather and share footage for use in event promotion. Speaker 2 said the drone footage ‘‘turned out awesome’’ and that sunset and daytime shots will help highlight parking and site layout for visitors.
Commissioners repeatedly framed the discussion around logistics — sponsorships, promotional items and coordinating performer availability — and agreed to continue planning and share promotional materials with other local partners before the events.
