Daggett County commissioners voted to approve a waiver and release-of-damages form for this year’s Daggett Days parade, scheduled for Aug. 30.
Commission members debated who should serve as the applicant for required UDOT permits. Speaker 2 said the town historically handled the permit but supplied the paperwork to the county this year; Speaker 1 said the commission could work through the procedural details for future events. "Normally, the town has done this," Speaker 2 said. "When I called the guy to ask about it, he said that's usually who did it, but Kathy handed it to us to do."
Speaker 4 moved to approve the waiver form; the motion received a second and passed by voice vote. Staff arranged for a commissioner to sign the approved form before the event.
The commission did not take further formal action on who will apply for future UDOT permits, but members said they will review the roles and responsibilities before next year’s parade.
