The Daggett County Commission on Sept. 30 approved routine procedural items and received several project updates.
The commission voted to go into and out of the Daggett County Redevelopment Agency (RDA) meeting after a motion, a second and recorded ayes. The body also moved to approve the minutes from its Sept. 23, 2025 commission and RDA meeting; a motion to approve was made and seconded and recorded ayes were audible on the record.
Commissioners received project updates: Cordell reported that county self-help housing crews are on site and construction is underway. Randy updated commissioners that the clinic’s walls are up and the concrete floor was poured just the previous day; he described laser-guided techniques used during the pour and said the project is now above ground.
On airport operations the commission discussed a potential nighttime evaluation and whether the airport beacon is functioning; members noted they would coordinate with Outback representatives and with the airport manager in Vernal to plan evaluations. Jordan Hewitt said tourism staff and others were traveling to the Utah Tourism Conference and continuing work on a local plan.
An LEPC meeting was announced for the 9th at noon in conjunction with the commission luncheon. The chair recessed the commission at 09:31 to conduct a municipal building authority meeting and said the commission would reconvene afterwards.
What happens next: Routine actions were approved; staff will place the Taylor Flat BLM lease and FAA application on next week’s agenda for further action, and project leads will continue construction and coordination work.
