One councilor said the LOI Brigham City used includes a cure period and recommended reverting the town draft to that phrasing before contacting Brigham City. “If anything is wrong, it automatically terminates,” the mover said, adding that he would prepare a juxtaposition showing the LOI language and the town draft for review.
The council agreed members should send a polite letter to Brigham City asking for the intent behind the change and why the town draft includes automatic termination language. Councilors said they were not trying to be adversarial and invited individual review of the proposed letter before it goes out. The council did not adopt a final amended text on the floor; staff said they will circulate materials and the suggested LOI comparison to councilors for comment.
