Sierra Hope outlines housing, food and HIV services and announces Angels Camp navigation hub

Sierra Hope Chief Executive Officer Ayesha Williamson briefed the board on the nonprofit's services and recent funding awards, and on plans to expand local access.
Williamson said the California Office of AIDS increased the organization's HOPWA housing award from about $101,000 to just over $151,000 for the fiscal year; the agency also received roughly $184,908 in Ryan White wraparound funding and a HUD allocation of just over $233,000 directed to Calaveras County for rapid rehousing and permanent supportive housing. "Our mission is simple, to promote individual dignity and support the health and well-being for at-risk members of our community," Williamson said.
Sierra Hope described supportive services (case management, nutrition assistance, medical transportation reimbursement, housing navigation), the food pantry (currently serving about 56 households per distribution), and plans to expand pantry capacity and add classes. Williamson said Sierra Hope will open a new navigation center in Angels Camp on Oct. 1 and expand the food pantry roughly eightfold in the new space.
County staff and supervisors thanked Sierra Hope and noted partnership with Public Health and other local agencies. The presentation was received as an informational item; no board action was required.
