RIVERSIDE COUNTY — At the December meeting, the Riverside County Airport Land Use Compatibility Commission considered several routine and quasi-judicial items and took the following actions.
ZAP 16-64 MA25 (agenda item 2.1): Staff reported that returned agency comments matched staff recommendations and recommended the commission find the proposed development plan consistent with the March Reserve Base Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan. The commission moved, seconded and approved the finding (no public speakers were recorded).
ZAP 16-62 MA25 (agenda item 3.1): Staff reported no comments had been received from the U.S. Air Force on this pending matter and recommended an immediate continuance to Jan. 8, 2026. The commission agreed and continued the matter to that date.
ZAP 16-63 MA25 (agenda item 3.2): Staff presented a proposal to subdivide approximately 39.09 acres and to amend the site's general-plan designation from low- to medium-density and to change zoning from rural residential to planned residential. The staff report recommended the general-plan amendment and change of zone be found consistent with the March Reserve Base compatibility plan subject to conditions. No public speakers appeared and the commission approved the staff recommendation by voice vote.
Administrative items: The director reported one consistency determination (ZAP-1102-RG25) issued under delegate authority for the Oct. 16'Nov. 15 reporting period. Simon Hausman, March Air Reserve Base project manager, reported stakeholders have committed financially to an amendment to the March ARB compatible-use study and that work will continue into next year.
Minutes and housekeeping: The commission approved minutes for Nov. 13, 2025, heard general announcements and adjourned for the holidays.
