Parks Director Carol Cosby told the board design is complete for the Civic Center Trail Phase 1 and recommended award of the construction contract to Schishler Construction Inc., the low bidder at $199,280.39. She recommended adding a standard 10% contingency ($20,136.04) for a project total in contract documents consistent with federal requirements. Cosby said design cost for the project was $71,000 and that the project is fully funded by federal grant funds ($513,806) with no local match; unused federal funds would be returned and staff would reapply for Phase 2 when grants reopen.
Utilities Deputy Director Kevin Love recommended awarding a pressure-relief-valve (PRB) installation to RJ Gleason, the low bidder at $173,092. He reported the board has a roll-forward of $442,778 from the 2024 budget for the project and recommended a 10% contingency ($17,309.20), bringing the procurement total to about $190,401.12. Love noted the recommendation was contingent on receiving signed contract documents and that staff could remove the item from Monday’s agenda if paperwork is not complete.
Both items were presented as recommended awards pending final contract signatures and will appear on the next meeting agenda for formal approval.
