Councilors heard a staff proposal to hire Milano and Grenlow for engineering work on a proposed new parking lot at the convention center.
Director Harlow said the scope includes preliminary engineering ($40,000) and construction engineering ($30,000), to be paid from the hotel/motel fund. The conceptual plan would create about 200 additional parking spaces to bring the convention center into compliance with planning and zoning requirements and accommodate events.
Council members indicated support to move forward with design work and directed staff to proceed with next steps.
Next steps: staff will advance design and return with any required ordinances, agreements or contract authorizations.
