Jefferson County sets Dec. 16 public hearing for proposed vacation-rental ordinance

Planning and Zoning on Nov. 18 presented the first reading of a proposed vacation-rental services ordinance and the board set a second-reading/public hearing date for Dec. 16, 2025.
Russ Clark, planning and zoning, said the first reading serves to put the proposed ordinance into the record, notify the public and set the date for the second reading when substantive action will occur. "If the resolution is passed today, it sets 12/16/2025 as the public hearing where the new ordinance may be considered," Clark said.
The board voted to proceed with first reading and directed staff to publish the ordinance in full. No public testimony was offered on the item at the Nov. 18 hearing.
