Presiding official (voice 2) clarified the council was approving only the allocation buckets and not awarding funds to specific subrecipients, which is handled at the committee level. Councilor Williams noted the committee had unanimously approved the plan in committee.
During the roll call on the motion, three council members announced abstentions for stated affiliations: Councilor Grant (affiliation with the Boys & Girls Club), Councilor Rohde (involvement with the Meriden Farmers Market), and Councilor Cardillo (member of the board of directors for Girls Incorporated of Meriden). The clerk recorded "3 abstained, and the rest are ayes," and the motion passed.
