Later in the meeting, Compton nominated Supervisor Nikki Check for vice chair; the board again approved the nomination by unanimous voice vote.
The votes took effect immediately. No additional conditions or staggered terms were announced during the meeting.
The board conducted the reorganizational votes at the start of its Jan. 7 public session and proceeded with the remainder of the agenda following the confirmations.
