The City Council unanimously approved a resolution recognizing October 2025 as Arts Month in the Pikes Peak Region. Councilmember Hingeam introduced the resolution and invited Scott Levy, board chair of the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region and executive director of Green Box Arts, to speak.
Levy outlined the region’s cultural assets — from the Fine Arts Center and Colorado Springs Philharmonic to the Ent Center and the Rocky Mountain Women's Film Festival — and emphasized the arts’ contributions to economic development, education and community cohesion. "The arts and culture sector in our city and the entire Pikes Peak Region is essential and an imperative part of our neighborhoods," Levy said.
Councilmembers thanked Levy and encouraged residents to participate in local arts events during the month. The motion was made and passed 9–0; councilmembers and guests gathered for a photograph at the dais.
