The City of Riverside City Council met in a special session on Sept. 30, 2025, to discuss recruitment of the city attorney and moved into closed session, Mayor Patricia Lackdawson said. "We will move into closed session to do so now, and we will return to close out the meeting," the mayor said during the meeting.
Mayor Patricia Lackdawson opened public comment at the start of the meeting but limited remarks to the closed-session items on the agenda. City staff provided bilingual access instructions and a call-in number (951-826-8686) and said callers may press 9 to request to speak. After checking for any in-chambers requests and finding none, the mayor closed public comment and the council entered closed session to discuss the single agenda item: recruitment of the city attorney.
The council later reconvened and "have no reportable actions from closed session item," Mayor Lackdawson said. With no reportable actions announced, the mayor adjourned the special meeting and noted the council's next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025.
