Newly elected trustees sworn in; Torsha Feaster elected board president

The Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education opened its organizational meeting by swearing in newly elected trustees and then electing board officers by paper ballot.
Clerk Miss Olzinski administered the oath of office to trustees Torsha Feaster, Don Wilkerson, Lehi Wilkins and Glenda Wilkes, who repeated the oath to support the U.S. and state constitutions and to faithfully discharge the duties of the board. Trustee Feaster then presided over the organizational portion.
Nominations and paper‑ballot voting followed district procedure. Trustee Torsha Feaster self‑nominated and, after ballots were read aloud by the clerk, was elected board president for 2025; the clerk read every trustee’s ballot aloud. Trustee Susan Schmidt was elected vice president after votes were tallied. Trustee Wilkes was elected secretary after Trustee Wilkins withdrew her nomination. Don Wilkerson was nominated and elected treasurer.
The board then recessed briefly and reconvened for the remainder of the agenda.
