County extends grease‑hauling contract for one year after vendor holds price

Muskegon County commissioners voted to extend the existing agreement with DHF for an additional year after staff told the board DHF agreed to hold its current price.
Pete Johnson of Resource Reserve Pacific told commissioners: "They were willing to hold their price for another year, so we are coming back to board as permission to go another year with them." Johnson said DHF hauls waste grease from the Resource Recovery Center.
The chair characterized the action as an extension pending an agreement and asked for board approval. A subsequent roll-call vote recorded affirmative responses from Water Resource Commissioner Barrett, Commissioner Cook, Commissioner Cyr, Commissioner Hazykamp, Commissioner Nash, Commissioner Herman and Chair Paige, approving the one-year extension.
Staff said the extension keeps existing service and pricing in place while staff completes an extension agreement and brings final contract documents for signature. No change in price or additional fiscal impact was reported at the meeting.
