Jefferson County approves amended $427,725 payment to ICAP after insurer revises invoice

Joe Vence, dialing in for the insurer, said the county could take recommended coverage adjustments — increasing the county’s property deductible to $25,000, setting auto physical-damage deductibles to $1,000 for comprehensive and collision, and increasing the cyber insurance limit — which reduce the required payment. Vence stated the revised amount the county should remit is $427,725 and confirmed coverage could be bound by receipt of paperwork and payment by Jan. 30.
The board moved and seconded a motion to approve the amended ICAP payment and carried the motion by voice vote. Staff said they would code the expense and aim to have a check ready by the next week to meet the insurer’s 30-day payment requirements.
Next procedural steps: county staff will code the payment into departmental budgets and ensure that the paperwork is returned so coverage bound for Jan. 1 remains in effect.
