County reports pipe replacements, chip-seal plans and bridge beam installation

Jefferson County supervisors received a multi-topic transportation update from District 5 operations.
Speaker 4 said crews have been replacing large pipes on 220th east of Pine on Bear Road and continuing to haul rock for contract work. He said the chip-seal project includes patching on Batavia/Ash Avenue near Old 34 and adding chip seal to H 43 (the road west out of Woodleyville toward Ash). "May 15 is the late start date, but I would guess they would start before that," Speaker 4 said, describing contractor coordination: Lehi Pelling as prime contractor and Norris for patching and stone base work.
On bridge work, Speaker 4 said crews set all 15 beams from pier to pier and the structure now appears connected; the next step is for a surveyor to verify elevations to confirm deck height before decking is installed. "They picked them up, set them right in place, and everything went really well," he said.
Supervisors did not take formal action on the road projects during the meeting; the report served as an update on contractor schedules and project sequencing.
