The Jefferson County Board of Supervisors approved multiple personnel actions Feb. 20, including wage reclassification for Secondary Road staff, longevity and step increases, and a hiring resolution for the sheriff's office.
The board approved moving Ken Kronk to $36.65 hourly as road supervisor and reclassifying Jess Rauscher to a truck driver/operator classification. It also approved a longevity/step increase for Jared Horn and a step increase effective Oct. 1, 2025, for correctional officer JC Groves. The board passed a resolution to hire Christine McHugh as a correctional officer with a stated starting salary.
Separately the board approved a temporary liquor license for Tomahawk Trading Company LLC (formerly operating under the "Cider House" name) for a multi-day festival, after county staff confirmed security and medical coverage had been arranged.
The board tabled a proposed outside attorney-representation contract tied to an administrative investigation, at the county attorney's request to provide comments and assistance. Supervisors also discussed charging Environmental Health for office space in the courthouse; suggested amounts ranged from $100 to $3,500 per month and the board agreed to table that discussion pending review by the Board of Health and the county attorney.
All personnel and license votes were carried by voice vote as noted in the minutes.
