County Purchasing asked the Board to approve Amendment No. 6 to the Superion LLC contract (RECC CAD system), extending the contract to June 3, 2027 and increasing compensation by $612,971.40 for a new total of $1,671,009.17 (exclusive of tax). Purchasing explained the increase is primarily for four servers, backup, and associated installation and maintenance to support the county’s computer-aided dispatch (CAD) operations at RECC.
Commissioner Green raised procurement concerns about the scale of the amendment compared with the original contract and asked whether alternatives had been evaluated. Purchasing and RECC leadership responded that the CAD software is proprietary, requires CentralSquare support, and that hardware and implementation need to match CentralSquare standards; they noted that procuring a replacement CAD would be a multi-year, multi-agency effort. County Manager and other staff said they are exploring longer-term procurement opportunities with partner agencies and DFA support. The Board approved the amendment; Commissioner Green cast the lone recorded no vote.
