City engineering presented procurement recommendations and the board voted on multiple contract awards and claims.
City engineering recommended award of the 2025 asphalt seal and preventive-maintenance base bid to DC Construction Services, Inc. for $292,524.48 and the additional bid to Howard Companies for $293,658.20; both motions were approved by voice vote. For the 2025 paving project on Greenbrier and Meadowbrook, Ace Paving submitted the lowest dollar bid but was not ENR prequalified for projects over $1,000,000 per Anderson specifications and Indiana Code 8-23-10-0.5, so Howard Companies’ bid of $1,044,623.60 was accepted as the lowest responsive bid and approved by the board.
Superintendent Cyberson presented three fuel bids for the 2026 city garage diesel supply; Petroleum Traders Inc. offered the lowest total fuel cost and the board approved awarding the contract to Petroleum Traders by voice vote.
In old business, the board approved claims as submitted by staff totaling $6,705,370.20 (Civil City $385,045.97; Light & Power $5,788,651.26; Water Department $128,435.09; Water Pollution $385,931.52; Stormwater $17,306.36). The meeting adjourned at 2:21 p.m.
